What a peanut count means
Peanut count grades describe the number of kernels in one ounce, or 28.35 grams. A 24/28 grade means that approximately 24 to 28 kernels make up one ounce. Lower count ranges generally indicate larger kernels, while higher count ranges indicate smaller kernels.
Count is a purchasing reference rather than a complete quality specification. Buyers should also confirm kernel type, moisture, processing level, packing and destination-market requirements.
Available kernel grades
Kenmande supplies long-type peanut kernels in 24/28, 28/32, 34/38, 38/42 and 42/46 grades. Round-type peanut kernels are available in 35/40, 40/50, 50/60, 60/70, 70/80 and 80/100 grades. Small red skin peanuts are available in 40/50, 50/60, 60/70, 70/80 and 80/90 grades.
Blanched peanut grades
Long-type blanched peanuts are available in 25/29, 29/33, 35/39 and 39/43. Round-type blanched peanuts are available in 36/41, 41/51, 51/61 and 61/71. The suitable grade depends on appearance, processing yield and final application.
